Tyrokafteri or Htypiti is a spicy appetizer consisting of five ingredients such as feta, olive oil, hot green pepper, vinegar and salt. It may also contain dairy products (milk, yogurt, feta cheese, etc.) or grated tomatoes to reduce pepper burning.
It is commonly eaten as part of a mezzeplatter, or by itself, with slices of warm pita bread. The dish has a spicy, salty taste, with mellow undertones of olive oil.
